Letter regarding the difficulties Ross has been facing in Muskat [Muscat], in receiving one sided information, primarily from the Batineh, and detailing his attempts to ascertain the truth.
The letter details recent events involving Ibrahim including support for him from the Batineh [Batina] and rumours that Sheikh Sahl has sold his plantation to provide further financial aid to him, and detailing Torkee [Said bin Turki]'s movements and alliances.
The letter also relays what Ross has heard regarding the administration and running of Muskat and its surrounding districts and thanks Pelly for making Newcome James Edwards available to act as a clerk for Ross.
The letter concludes with the movements of vessels in the Gulf, including the Magpie and enquiring what to do with telegrams which have arrived for the vessel following her departure from Muskat.
