The letter is acknowledging a communication from the Resident, dated 24 September 1819, which concerned the Joasemee [ Qawāsim One of the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates; also used to refer to a confederation of seafaring Arabs led by the Qāsimī tribe from Ras al Khaima. ] prisoners being transferred from Bombay to Bushire to affect a prisoner exchange.
