The letter is informing the Resident that Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd, the Imam of Muscat, is prepared to render every assistance to the British expedition to suppress piracy in the Gulf; this includes military aid to support the attack on Ruselkhima [Ra's al-Khaymah].

Mr Jukes further informs the Resident of his intention to travel to Bunderabas [Bandar-e ʻAbbās], in order to forward a letter overland to the Prince at Shuraze [Shiraz]. It also mentions that the Resident should consider other arrangements to reach Kishim [Qeshm] if Captain Loch has not yet arrived at Bushire.
