The letter is requesting an interpreter for the HC Cruizer Vestal , as it has been ordered to Kuteef [Al-Qaṭīf]; the Commander, Lieutenant Watson, has had great difficulties communicating with the principle persons of that port recently, due to the absence of an interpreter on board.

The letter is not dated; however it was received at the Bushire Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. early in August.
