The letter is acknowledging the receipt of communications from the Resident, dated 21 December 1818 and 5 January 1819. It notes that the Governor of Bombay has concluded that all necessary measures to prevent the Joasmee [ Qawāsim One of the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates; also used to refer to a confederation of seafaring Arabs led by the Qāsimī tribe from Ras al Khaima. ] from settling on the island of Kishime [Qeshm] will have been taken.
