The letter reports that the Vackeel [Karim Khan] is not agreeing to the terms so far put to him. He has advised the English to withdraw from Bushire as he cannot guarantee their safety while there is an ongoing dispute between himself and Shaik Saddoon [Sheikh Sa‘dūn]. A postscript follows stating that progress has since been made in settling this dispute and expresses hope.
