The letter is mostly an update on the expedition against Carrack [Kharg], covering several subjects:
- a boat delivering a packet from George Skipp in Shiraz to Basra was driven ashore at Bunderick [Bandar Rig] by Meer Mahanna's [Mīr Muhanna] armed trankeys;
- the order from the Caun [Karim Khan] for the Chaub [Banu Ka‘b] and other sheikhs along the Gulf coast to assist against Mīr Muhanna;
- reports that an English vessel has been taken off Halela [Heleylah] by the Mīr's boats;
- a request for more cash;
- whether to pay John Yoakly Botham for his normal duties while he is away with the expedition;
- assurances that they are ready to withdraw from Bushire necessary.
