The letter discusses the prudence of staying out of local and regional politics as much as possible, illustrating the point with news that Shaik Nassir [Sheikh Nāsir] is unhappy with Benjamin Jervis' attempts to have him removed from power in Bushire. The trade in woollens is also discussed, specifically Karim Khan's desire to clothe his troops and the scarcity of Carmenia wool due to the upheaval of revolt there. The order for Mr Natter, on sick leave in Basra, to return to Bushire is given.
