Watercolour, pen and ink and pencil on paper.

The view drawn by Lieutenant Michael Houghton from a sketch by Dr A. Mackell showing three sequential topographical views of the coastal region between ‘Jibbul Hadwareeah’ and ‘Zerboot’ [east of present-day Al Ruwais, United Arab Emirates].

The views were sketched from on board ship and show the landmarks inscribed: ‘Jibbul Hadwareeah S 31° W. ½ miles dist[an]t’ and ‘Zerboot S 56° W. dist[an]t 14 ½ miles’.
