Letter describing the maritime truce in the Gulf which Pelly arbitrates as Resident and explaining that the arab tribes of the littoral are bound by it and not Persia or Muscat.
The letter details the Sultan of Muscat's desire to continue leasing Bunder Abbass [Bandar Abbas], that the Sultan will not allow the islands of Sarak and Aujam [Henjam] to be included in any new lease and Pelly's opinion that the Bunder Abbass affair needs to be speedily settled.
