List of all the letters sent by steamer on 5 January 1868 giving the name and address of each recipient and a brief summary of the content.

Recipients included Miss Anna Eudocia Pelly, Messrs Remington & Co, Narayn Wassadeojoee, William Lockyer Merewether and Sir Bartle Frere.

The list includes an indepth summary of the letter to Sir Bartle Frere in which Pelly discusses the need for a new residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. steamer, the difficulties with the persian authorities and his desire to discuss central Russian affairs with Lord Stanley.
