The letter main part of the letter discusses the idea of assisting the Caun [Karim Khan] against Meer Mahanna [Mīr Muhanna] following a request from Jervis for the Tartar to be sent to do so. The author argues that the coming monsoon, the condition of the vessel, and the risk of upsetting Mīr Muhanna all mean that the Tartar should be dispatched to India immediately. It is also questioned why no copy of Karim Khan's letter requesting this assistance was sent to the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. at Basra.

The instruction to sell a tranky and notification of two sepoys Term used in English to refer to an Indian infantryman. Carries some derogatory connotations as sometimes used as a means of othering and emphasising race, colour, origins, or rank. travelling to Bushire are also given.
