The letter discusses the Khaun's [Karim Khan] offer of the settlement of Bunderick [Bandar Rig] to the Company and asks why no confirmation of the Company's grants have yet been obtained from the Khan. It informs that the matter of Mr Christant, a Dutch Writer The lowest of the four classes into which East India Company civil servants were divided. A Writer’s duties originally consisted mostly of copying documents and book-keeping. who is claiming for losses incurred by the English during the withdrawal from Gombroon [Bandar Abbas], now lies with the Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. at Bombay. There is a further reprimand for the lack of information in Jervis' letters.
