The letter expresses hope that the Caun [Karim Khan] will assist in the attack on Carrack [Kharg] as soon as possible. Also informs that the company surgeon, Mr Birch, and the sick and wounded are proceeding to Bushire. Enclosed is a copy of a letter to the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. at Basra, also from Charles Elphinstone and Lawrence Nilson.

Enclosed letter (dated 21 May 1768): To Henry Moore, East India Company Agent at Bussora [Basra]. The letter gives a detailed account of the first attack on the Island of Carrack [Kharg]. The letter is certified a true copy by the signature of J. Y. Botham, secretary to the expedition.
