Letter regarding rumours that Syed Turki [Turki bin Said] has been invited to Muskat [Muscat] and that Syed Salim [Salim II bin Thuwaini] will have to give up the Sultanship should he do so, but that Syed Turki has no finances in order to get him to Muskat, and further rumours that Khulug (Abu Esau) is attempting to raise it for him.
The letter goes on to report on a telegram received from the Moonshee of the Prince Governor A Prince of the Royal line who also acted as Governor of a large Iranian province during the Qājār period (1794-1925). of Shiraz enquiring as to the delay in Pelly's arrival there; regarding Edwards having given Captain Atkinson an order for 40 tons of coal at Bassidore; and regarding the satisfaction of the Persian authorities with the actions taken by Edwards regarding the Persian subject who had engaged himself as a sailor on Euphrates and had been reported to have been retained against his will.
