Letter regarding Mr Hayward who is seeking a promotion; Jemant ood Deen, an Indian baker who is currently unemployed and who Edwards feels would make an excellent Butler for Pelly; and the benefits in having peons [orderlies] from Bombay rather than using Persian servants.
A postscript to the letters relates to a lack of paper at the Bazaar and the possible need to get some from India and a hunt for a Buck that took place the previous day.
