Letter regarding Jacob's correspondence with Lord Clarendon, a recent incident with Mr Murray and an article of Jacob's which appeared in the Leader December 1857.
The letter goes on to discuss Jacob's decision to send Lieutenant George William Macauley to Rajpootana [Rajasthan] and their recent success in recruiting for native infantry regiments.
A postscript to the letter informs Pelly his horses have arrived safely with Jacob.
The letter refers to enclosed copies of letters from Lord Clarendon, which are no longer with this letter.
