Letter regarding the delivery of the letter for Muskat [Muscat] to the de-facto Government, the apparent calming of matters in Muskat and the resumption of trade there.
The letter goes on to recommend not appointing Gaspar Rozario to Muskat but to select the head Arabic Mirza of the Muskat residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. temporarily and to request an eligible person from Bombay.
The letter also discuses a letter given to Pelly for His Excellency the Governor which gives the necessary assurances regarding the safety of British Subjects and trade, and which leads Pelly to the conclusion that merchants can resume trading there safely.
