Letter enclosing a written declaration of peace, given to Pelly by the Wahabee [Wahhabi] envoy and confirming that the Wahabees were agreeable to the conditions of the British Government.
- Enclosed letter from Lewis Pelly, to Abdellah bin Faysal [Abdullah ibn Faisal], Ameer [Amir] of the Wahabee tribe, dated Zilhaj 1282 / 4 May 1866, outlining the British Government's wishes not be involved in matters between the Wahabees and Maskat [Muscat] in terms of payment, with the exception of using Pelly's office to arrange the details of any agreement. The letter also emphasises that the Wahabee religion is a matter for the Wahabees, their Imaum [Imam] and God only and not the British Government.
