Letter regarding the placing of gun-boats at the disposal of the Resident for the protection of the telegraph stations; the detachment of 30 marines protecting the telegraph station at Masendum [Musandam] which had been quartered on a boat so as to maintain the agreement regarding no troops being landed; and detailing the layout at Masendom [Musandam] including the possibilities of attack and the boat with marines being the best temporay protection.
The letter goes on to describe the situation at Bassidore and Bushire and Pelly's intentions with regards to the ships Caromandel and Berenice.
