Letter regarding the proceedings of Her Majesty's Ship [H.M.S.] Highflyer and enclosing Gonne's letters to the Government of India and Commander Hillyar requesting that Pelly keep the Minister at Tehran informed of proceedings with the Muskat [Muscat] and Wahabee [Wahhabi] states.
- Enclosed letter No. 31 of 1866 from Charles Gonne to the Secretary of the Government of India in the Foreign Department, Fort William, 27 February 1866 regarding the success of H.M.S. Highflyer 's operations against the Wahabees [Wahabbis], the bomibing of Katif [Al-Qatif] and the need for Colonel Pelly to ascertain the extent and damage of these operations before deciding whether a further naval response may be required. The letter also commends Captain Pasley and his crew for the way in which they handled the operations.
- Enclosed letter No. 32 of 1866 (a continuation of letter No.31), also dated 27 February 1866 enclosing a letter to Commander Hillyer regarding the operations undertaken by H.M.S. Highflyer . The letter to Commander Hillyer is not included.
