Arabic translation, probably by Ḥunayn ibn Isḥāq al-‘Ibādī (c 809-873; see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. , f. 142v, line 8, transcribed below), of Galen’s (Claudius Galenus of Pergamum, 129- c 200) treatise on critical days, De diebus decretoriis libri III (Περὶ κρισίμων ἡμερῶν βιβλία γ΄; أيام البحران). The manuscript was completed in Damascus, 580 AH/AD 1184 by Ibrāhīm ibn Naṣr ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Munīr al-Kīlānī (?), who made the copy for his own use (see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. to Item 3, f. 191v, lines 9-12).

Contents:

Three chapters (مقالات):

• Chapter One (ff. 82v-108r);
• Chapter Two (ff. 108r-128v);
• Chapter Three (ff. 128v-142v).

Begins (f. 82v, lines 3-5):

قد تحتاج في أن تصحّ انقضاء المراض التي لا تتنقص قليلاً قليلاً لكن تسكن دقعةً

إلى أن يكون قبلها إما اسبفراغ بيّن وإما خراج ظاهر لأنّ الأمراض التي تسكن بغير

أحد هذين الشيئين من عادتها أن تعاود فينبغي لك أن تتفقّد هذا بغاية الاستقصاء

Ends (f. 142v, lines 4-7):

... وليس متى كان

المرض قصيرًا فهو لا محالة حاد ولا متى كان المرض بطيئًا فهو لا محالة طويل فمن

قبل هذه التراكيب والتزاويج إذ كنت ليست بالبيّنة لكثير من الأطباء غلطوا في

أسماء هذه المعاني ثم غلطوا أيضًا مع ذلك في تعرف نفس المعاني
