transport for the conduct of its operations, whatever
such means "be, whether "by land, water or air; "but if there
"be need for me to use the telegraphs, telephones and
railways "belonging to the Company for my personal "business
the Company shall agree to this, and it shall not be
entitled to demand any hire whatsoever from me. Should,
God forbid, any great incident happen in my territories,
I shall have the right to use the wireless and telegraph
installations and railways belonging to the Company for my
State affairs and it shall not be entitled to demand any
hire from me at all. The ships belonging to us can use the
harbours used or built by the Company ; but our ships must
not hamper the Company's operations and must do nothing
detrimental to the Company's interest in any way; and the
Company's opinion in this connection shall be the final
opinion.
Condition Seventh* I, Shaikh Abdullah bin Qasim ath-Thani
have granted to the Company the right to use all the
uncultivated lands belonging to us which the Company may
require for its operations, to any extent it may desire,
and I shall not demand any cost or hire from it. If the
Company needs to acquire any other lands or houses or
buildings it can purchase the lands houses, buildings, etc.
or rent the same on such terms as may be agreed upon by their
owners; but the value or rental of these shall not be in
excess of the rates current in their localities. The
Company shall acquire only such lands, houses and buildings
as are required for its use according to this Agreement;
and it is understood that the lands and houses taken over
by the Company must be less than the whole area of Qatr.
It shall, likewise, inform me, at all times, of such lands,
houses and buildings which are required to be occupied for
