Two folios of a letter, in General John Jacob's handwriting regarding the potential impact of another war with Russia, the importance of Kurdistan's position with regard to such a war and the possible involvement of Persia. The letter also discusses the importance of retaining Bushire and Jacob's belief that he would be most useful in such a scenario on the North-West frontier Region of British India bordering Afghanistan. of India.

The names of the correspondent and recipient of the letter, and its date are not known however the handwriting belongs to John Jacob and the letter can be estimated as being from 1858 as all the letters from Jacob in the file are from that year.
