The letter is acknowledging the receipt of the commands of the Bombay Government, dated 3 March 1822 (No 377 of 1822), respecting the claims of Abdol Rahim Khan [‘Abd al-Raḥīm Khān]; the Resident is instructed to provide the Government with copies of all the correspondence that has guided his actions with respect to the affairs of the late Nebbe Khan [Muḥammad Nabī Khān]. This correspondence is enclosed, however copies have not been transcribed in this volume.
The letter also includes certificates for James Dow A term adopted by British officials to refer to local sailing vessels in the western Indian Ocean. and John Tow, that certify the time they have spent in charge at the Bushire Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. .
