The letter is informing the Assistant Surgeon that it is the opinion of the Resident that it is no longer necessary for him to travel to Kishme [Qeshm]; he was instructed by the Bombay Government to assist in determining the most suitable location for the new cantonment at Bassidore [Bāsaʻīdū]. The letter notes that the location for the cantonment has already been determined.
