In this letter, William Bruce, Resident at Bushire, reports that the surviving crew members from the Ariel are proceeding to the Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. on board the Malabar country ship. He states that they have agreed with the ship's Commander that the owners shall be paid by Government whatever is customary for carrying troops or sea man [seamen] from the Gulf, in addition to payments for provisions supplied to them by the Master of the Malabar. Bruce makes a request for the Honourable Board to direct the regular customary charges to be paid.
