Letter enclosing an account of sale (f 309) of articles received by Lt-Col Samuel Hennell, Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , and Kemball, Assistant to the Resident, as presents from the Imam of Muscat and the Governor of Kishm [Qeshm]. The list of gifts received include shawls and a gold sword from the Imam of Muscat, and three bullocks, three sheep, a box sherbet, vermicelli, honey and pumpkins from the Governor of Queshm. Kemball writes that, from the monies received from the sale of these goods, he has made small gifts to the Imam of Muscat's confidential secretary, the Imam's attendant, and the bearer of the gifts from the Governor of Queshm, as acknowledgement of the gifts received.
