Kemball reports the death of the Sheikh Muktoom [Maktum bin Butti] of Debaye [Dubai] from smallpox, while on board one of the Imam of Muscat's vessels, travelling from Muscat to Kishm [Qeshm]. Kemball states that Sheikh Saeed bin Butye [Said bin Butti] has succeeded the deceased ruler.
