The letter relates to events on the Batinah Coast, and the lack of response that Kemball has had from the Imam of Muscat Syed Soweynee [Thuwaini bin Said]. Kemball encloses a translation of a letter he has received from the Native Agent Non-British agents affiliated with the British Government. at Sharjah, Hajee Yacoob [Hajji Yaqoob], dated 13 September 1853, which describes the movements of troops in the region, and the contents of letters exchanged by those tribal leaders ranged against Muscat.
