The letter is a covering letter enclosing correspondence sent by Commodore George Robinson, Commanding Officer of the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Squadron, to Kemball, concerning the discovery at Lingah [Bandar-e Lengeh] of indigo from the plundered ship Centaur . The letter referred to does not follow Kemball's covering letter, but is likely the same as that also forwarded to Arthur Malet, Chief Secretary of the Government, Bombay, and found at folio 101.
