The letter is reporting that Shaikh Mahomed bin Khuleefeh [Muḥammed bin Khalīfah Āl Khalīfah], Chief of Bahrein [Bahrain], has acquiesced to the Resident's views respecting the situation at Bahrein. However, it notes that the Chief would prefer to discuss the terms of the settlement with the Resident in person during his next visit to the island; the Resident therefore intends to embark on his tour of the Arabian Coast as soon as possible.
It also notes that Shaikh Mahomed bin Abdullah is returning the Demaun [Ad-Dammān], but that he has promised to meet the Resident at Bahrein. It also reports the cost incurred entertaining him at the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. at Bushire.
