Covering letter discussing an intelligence report received by Kemball from Hajee Yacoob, native agent Non-British agents affiliated with the British Government. at Sharjah, dated 25 August 1852. Yacoob's report is appended to Kemball's letter (f 151). In his letter Yacoob states that, in spite of the quiet appearance of affairs on the Arab coast, the sheikh of Dubai has sent a man to Muscat to seek the Imam's help in the defence of his town against its neighbours. Yacoob also states that he has received a letter from Saeed ben Tahnoon [Sa'id bin Tahnun, sheikh of Abu Dhabi] informing him that Ben Saood [Amir Faisal ibn Turki] intends to proceed to Oman after Eid.
