Covering letter for two enclosures:
1) The translated extract of a report (f 67) from Hajee Jassem, the British Agent at Bahrain, to Kemball, dated 12 November, stating that a messenger has recently delivered letters to Sheikh Muhammad bin Khalifa from the Wahhabi Chief Amir Faisal, on the payment of zikat [tribute]. Jassim also reports on Faisal's arranged meeting with the Bedouins at Lahsah [Al Hasa];
2) The translated extract of a report (f 68) from Hajee Jassem, the British Agent at Bahrain, to Kemball, dated 19 November, describing his meeting with Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa, brother of the ruler of Bahrain. Jassim writes that Sheikh Ali says his brother has rejected the relocation of the former Bahrain ruler Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed's sons to Fars, and insists that Kuwait alone is an acceptable place for their removal.
