Sketch map of the ancient Tigris and Euphrates delta produced to illustrate ‘Report on the Development of Mesopotamia’ showing the irrigation system with approximate course of the Old Tigris and position of ancient and existing canals. Contains explanatory notes on history of the irrigation system in the region with numerous comments inserted on a map.

Below title: ‘Plan compiled by Sir William Willcocks from Surveys, Levels & reconnaissances [sic] of the irrigation Mission 1908-09, Surveys by the Officers of the R.I.M.S. “Comet” Messrs. Collingwood and Selbys Maps, & Col. Chesny’s map’.
