Letter regarding the opening up of trade in the Gulf and the increase in claims and complaints and extra work for the Resident that has been a result of this.
The letter also discusses the import and export duties being imposed by the Persian Government at Lingah [Bandar-e-Lengeh] and Bushire and concerns on the possible future impact of the Opium trade on the Indian Government and the Pearl trade on the arab littoral European vessels are allowed into the Gulf with diving equipment.
