Genre/Subject Matter:
This aerial view of the Beni Bu Ali Fort was taken directly overhead on 4 February 1932 by the R.A.F. during a reconnaissance mission in advance of a planned bombardment of Aiqa and Jaalan (Ja‘alān) described in following folios, f. 129-130.
Due north and northeast of the fort, which is just below centre, are a large number of walled dwellings. Further enclosures and dwellings are visible to the west and south of the fort. This image depicts almost the same area as depicted in IOR/R/15/1/444, f. 128f.
