that "Certain raembers of the Soudan Jomrrunity residing on
txie liirri Island have lately removed to the Abu Musa lsland w .
In this connection see Loriraer^ Gazetteer page 1830 in ^hich
it is noted that sone 40 faiailies of tiie ooudan are resident
on oirri Island. 1 should be glad if you *ould ta^e a very
early opportunity of visiting Abu Musa, enquiring into the
1 acts oi tiiis migration, and letting me Jtnow }i6w r any indi
viduals have actually transferred themselves, arhat their raal^
reasons are for doing so and vrhether you see any objection
to it.
It occurs to me that possibly tile migration may be
prompted by some sort of idea of eventually claiming British
protection and I should therefore li^e to Know exactly ho*
matters stand.
