Content

Letter encloses a resolution, passed by the Government on 23 Febuary 1811, on the subject of the reappearance of pirates in the Gulf. Warden conveys the directions of the Governor in Council that Bruce be diligent and attentive and provide assistance to the commanders of the Prince of Wales and the Mercury as and when necessary. The resolution requests that the Mercury and the Prince of Wales be equipped for service in order to protect British navigation in the Gulf, particularly from Muscat to Bushire.
