Content

The letter is forwarding copies and translations of two letters from Shaik Mohumed, brother of Shaikh ‘Abd al-Rasūl Khān, Governor of Bushire. Only one of these enclosures is transcribed in the volume; a translation of a letter from Shaik Mohumed [Shaikh Muḥammad] to Nicholas Hankey Smith, received 21 April 1808. The letter outlines some suspicions of dishonest intentions that appear to be developing between the French Ambassador and the Persian King.
