Letter regarding the arrival of Commander Montresor and HMS Severn in Bombay and the Commander's arrangements to assist Pelly in the Gulf and send steam tenders to Muscat.
The letter also discusses the situation in Muscat including the various scenarios that could arise if Sultan Thoweynee [Sayyid Thuwaini bin Said] attempted to seize the vessel Berenice ; as well as giving observations on the Wahabee [Wahhabi] Muscat dispute and Persian claims to Gwadur [Gwadar].
