The letter acknowledges the receipt of a communication from the Resident dated 15 August 1818. It expresses the Captain's outrage at a report that a ship belonging to Shaik Abdulla ben Ahmed [Shaikh ‘Abdullāh bin Aḥmad] has been plundered by the HC Cruizer Antelope . It insists that all the property that was taken should be restored, and the Commander of the Antelope brought to account for his actions.
