PREFACE
This book has no pretensions to be either historical,
scientific, or political, being merely the record of a very
happy period of my existence which I have, in a way,
re-lived by writing about it.
My information, however, may claim to be correct as
far as it goes, my brother, Major Sykes, who has travelled
for several years in Persia on Government service, having
revised my manuscript.
As I believe that I am the first European woman
who has visited Kerman and Persian Baluchistan, my
experiences may perhaps interest other women who feel
the 'Wanderlust' but are unable to gratify their longing
for adventure.
