Dhfarah and took Zakah irom the Manasir and the ^azari 1 *
He then ^foceeaed to all the parts of Dhafrah and took Zakah
from all the people there. Shaikh Sultan bin Zaid wanted to
ptevent the servant from taking Zakah from the inhabitants of
Lhalrah but he A unable to do so. When Shaikh Sa-jr bin Zaid
killed his brother Sultan bin ^aia in the year 1345 equivalent
to the year 1926 and became the Shaikh of Abu ^habi he entered
into friendly relations with the King Bin ia'ud and the Amir of
Hasa, 'Abdullah bin ^alawi^for he was afraid from the sons of
Shaikh oultan bin gaid they might seek the assitance of the
King hin ^a f ud land the ^mir of ^asa against him. He used to
do his best in paying to the Amir of Hasa the Zakah of the
Dhefrah ana r-uraimi people. Shaikh Sa^r bin Zaid was killed by
the Manasir and the servant of Sultan bin gaid y and Shaihbut
bin Sultan bin Zaid became the Shaikh of Abu ^habi.
At beginning ol the rule of Shaikk-Shakkbut bin Sultan
over Abu i^habi he was lenient in paving the Sakah in the same

manner as used to be paid at the^two previous Shaikhs namely
when the Muzakki reached the Al Bainaun^on tne western sine of
Dhatran ana coiiectea tne Zakan from ihe tribesmen wno were
at AJ. Bainaunan he usea to go to Liwa on the Soutnern sine of
Dnai ran and recover Zakah from the ffiazari' ana asiceithe rest of
tribes men of Bam Yas to pay Zakan on their camels. They us/yi

were divers, the muzajaa aever used to insist on tnem. The
Manasir who are living on the South%n side of Dhafrah at Liwa,
claim -to be divers and tor the last lour years they nave not

Shaiich is at f^asa. The reason lor not insisting on getting the
ZaKah is that in the year 1349 a fight took place between the
ti-ioes ol Bam Yas / namely the Hawamil and the men ol toe Amir
ci ^asa, Muhammad as-Sanali and his lollowers. The said men
lad severe beating and tne lour tribes did not pay Zaican,
incluaing some ol the "nasir who were on the southern springs.
