The letter is enclosing a communication received by the Resident from the Government Agent at Sharga [Sharjah] concerning the progress of the Wahabee [Wahhabi] sect in Arabia, along with another enclosure from the Government Agent at Muscat; copies of these enclosures are not provided in this volume. It notes the Resident's opinion that the Imam of Muscat cannot maintain his independence in the event of a Wahabee ascendency.
