Autobiographical treatise by the physician and philosopher Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Zakarīyā al-Rāzī (أبو بكر محمد بن زكريا الرأزي; d. ca 925) in defence of his philosophical lifestyle.

Begins (f. 1v, lines 6-8):

قال أبو نصر (!) محمد بن زكريا الرازي ألحق الله روحه بالروح والراحة إن

ناسًا من أهل النظر والتميّز والتحصيل لما رأونا نداخل الناس ونتصرف في وجوه

من المعاش عابونا واستنقصونا ...

Ends (f. 5v, lines 9-11):

فهذا ما أردنا أن نودع في هذه المقالة ولواهب العقل الحمد بلا نهاية

كما هو أهله ومستحقه وصلى الله على المصطفيين

من عباده والخيرات من إمائه
