Dear Thomas,
I do not understand the first paragraph of your letter of
todays date*
The Council gave you 6 weeks leave and you proceeded to

the Al Saidi which took the /all of Dhofar, v.ho had been on
leave, baexe to his ^ost and ».as to bring you back to yours*
Instead of returning by the Al Saidi you sent a letter oack by
her Captain asking the Council for leave without pay Irorn Ist~
31st December* Owing to the distance of ^hofar irom Muscat no
reply couJLd be sent by the Council, mo^e especially as oixe
Al Saidi brought back news that you had gone into the Iluua-al-
