I regard to the proceeding© of the Chief of Debai, 1 bsg
to inforn you tiiat on the eth Shawal (84th Deoember) he or
ganized a nen force in 14 boato r .anned by Arabs and weapono of
warfare and nent them to the Island of Aboo Muaa to deter the
horees and oattle of the Chief of sbargah (froa gracing there).
It hae been cuBtonary fron old tisiea for the Chief of
Shargah to send his oattle to that Inland and the people of
Debai sent siono horeee and oattle there none tirae ago and a
dispute took place between the two Sheikh® about that island.
I twice wrote to the Chief of Debai to keep away from that
Island but received no autiofactory reply# This proceeding on
the nart of the Sheikh of Debai becoming knotm, the Sheikh
of Shargah ordered 30 boato to be prepared to go there alec
manned and armed for war. Seeing that much disturbance would
ensue, frora this soove on the island and at the sea, 1 went
to the Sheikh, Salen, and after much difficulty nersuaded hi®
in abandoning his Intention, ile then ordered the boats not to
move.

horses and cattle fror the Island of Boo Hub a that this cause
for quarrel ©ay cease araong them all.

ceed in reaching the Island and had to return to Debai with
their aniaalo,

The file is arranged in four volumes.

Physical characteristics

Foliation: This file has been split into four parts.
