S. Sheikh Salin bin Cultan to whom the Persian Deputy Go-
vernor of Lingah addressed a demand for the extradition of
an inhabitant of Sirri Island was formerly Chief of Shargah,
but at prenont han no right to ex^ercioe jurisdiction any
where, so it is necessary to consider this particular case,
in its present form more thoroughly. No doubt, however, we
may be prepared to hear of further similar demands on the
Trucial Chiefs of Oman.
Up to the srenent time the Governors of Lingah were Arabs,
v
kinsmen of the Oman Joasimins and they freely communicated
with one another on matters affecting their common interests.
Mow that the Persians have assume^ direct administration the
circunstances are altered and I think it is necessary to
cise a closer supervision over the correspondence between the
Persian Authorities and the Trucial Chiefs.
