2. Shaikh Salim bin Sultan to whom the Persian Deputy Governor
of Lingah addresses a demand for the extradition of an inhabitant
of Sirrl Island was formerly Chief of Shargah, but at present has
no right to rxercise jurisdiction any where, bo it is necessary
to consider this particular case, in its nresent form more
thoroughly. No doubt, however, we may be ■nremre^ to hear of fur
ther similar demands on the Trucial Chief's of Oman.
Up to the present time the Governors of T.ingah ^ere A.r-abs, kins
men of the Oman Joasimins and they freely communicated with one
another on matters affecting their common interests. Now thst
the Persians have assumed direct administration the circumstances
are altered and I think it is necessary tn exercise a closer
supervision over the corresponrience between the Persian Author!tie
andthe Trucial Chiefs,
